Marine Research
Through local intiatives, using international protocols, we collect valuable data that improve our understanding of the Rainbow Reef ecosystem and its response to local and global environmental stressors. Successful completoin of small research projects on a daily basis will help ensure the long-term survival of our reef ecosystems.
Coral Reef Monitoring
We conduct research on our adopted PADI Adopt the Blue dive sites using the internationally recognized Coral Watch program.
Crown of Thorn Starfish Population Monitoring
We monitor populations of the Crown of Thorn Starfish to reduce the potential for harmful population explosions that can dessimate healthy reefs.
Shark and Ray Observations
We record the occurance of shark and ray species throughout our dive sites. Monitoring of sharks and rays has become an important element of international reef health monitoring programs.
Post-Storm Evaluations
We conduct post-storm evaluations of our Adopted dive sites to evaluate the damage from major storm events that occasionally affect the Rainbow Reef.
